Hi, and yes I'm still alive, its been a little over a month since last I wrote, and not a lot has happened, I've yet to complete a cross stitch project. Have made some more jewelry, just earrings, and a couple of Byzantine bracelets and a double Byzantine watch. I do think I am better at jewelry making than any of the other craft/art forms I've attempted.
Still in Florida, loving the new house, just about settled, I need another computer I think for my studio I need a lot of stuff for my studio, including tools/equipment gems and lots of silver. I think a lap top would be more than sufficient, but well the chances of me being solvent enough to start purchasing lap tops, and silver smithing/jewelry supplies is a ways off.
Oh and the reasons for the pictures, one the picture of Fr John, Robert and I, at our Convalidation is one of the nicest pictures Robert and I have ever taken. The other two are because I'm planning on getting Sisterlocks(tm) , and I wanted to give a couple of examples of what changes my hairs been through in the last two years.
Luckily I don't have pic's of the last perm I had, that again broke off lots of hair. Or the blond twa I sported in the mid 90's or the 'curl from the late 80's.
I have begun to understand, that treating my hair like a bad science project isn't the way to go. I'll never have straight hair, in fact I don't want straight hair, nor do I want hair that breaks when you wash/sleep/look at it.
I want to care for myself enough to treat me right, and that means treating my hair right, so I'm saving those dimes and nickles I would have wasted on various hair don'ts and waiting for the time I can do what is going to make me happy at least hair wise.
Also commiting to going back on my diet, I want to be healthy, and I am not healthy at my current size, level of activity. Side's I have often read that caring for one self is one of the best ways to care for others.
Just got to take all of this one day at a time.

Okay Fall is officially here in Central Florida.
I've seen my first pair of cardinals, male and female both in my front yard under my big oak tree. I saw the male first, and there's a light shower going. I honestly believe Fall is my favorite time of the year.
Time to rotate projects I think I'll work on something for the fall perhaps Vermilion's Acorn Pillow, or Teresa Wentzlers Nativity, or 12 days of Christmas, or any of the fall charts in the plethora of magazines I have.
Hmmm, if my insurance check comes I feel a deep need to make a run to the LNS hmmm.
:) okay off to check my stash to see what I can do, Tal;

Well I guess the days at a end. Lets see what have I accomplished today, hahaha, joke me accomplish something, okay perhaps thats a bit over dramatic, but honest being in the ranks of the unemployed sucks like major stuff.
Okay I did exercise on the Gazelle again today, the whole lower body work out as well as the power toning section.
Got some stitching done on Emmy, but not enough to really speak about.
Oh how I miss working at the Reservation Center, I can't believe how miserable I feel without, employment, I never thought I was one of those people who's self worth is tied to their job.
I don't know is it the lack of expendable cash for stash enhancement etc; or the fact I have to lean on Robert instead of standing tall next to him.
Ok enough navel gazing I'm off to bed, can you believe I just wanted to mention I had exercised. Sigh.....bed time, tomorrow's another day

Stitching Blogger's Question of the Week You've just been given a $100 gift certificate to buy anything cross stitch or needlework related - what would you spend it on right now?
100 dollars for stash, oh what a pleasure that would be, I would order some of the solos and hand dyed fabric at Silkweaver, also the fabrics Sugar Maple Fabricsthan there's the new Mirabilia design Lilly of the Woods, the Dreaming fairy there's a picture on Down Sunshine Lane website.
Madonna of the Garden Or Christmas elegance also by Mirabilia, (is it me or do I see a trend here :)I almost forgot Teresa Wentzler's Fortunate Traveler.
I'd also get threads, all kinds, over dyed threads, silks, DMC,rainbow galleries and krenik braid,. And what good are threads and fabric and charts without needles, John James petite tapestry needles,(those are my favorite needle, because I can get the most out of thread, I could use about a good dozen, and the krenik needles. There are various tools I would like to try but haven't had a chance to. Great question, virtual S.E.X. is almost as fun as the real deal. I'm sure I'll add one or two more things but that's it. For now :)
I'm still working on Emerald Mermaid,I am sure I've miscounted somewhere and its going to be fun seeing just how off count I am, I should know by now NOT to stitch when I'm on pain medications one sort of another.
Well off to see what I can throw together for lunch, be well

Well I pulled out the Gazelle again, three days in one week yikes I might be starting a routine. Except for the fact I ache. My arms shoulders neck, can we say its a aspirin moment. Which I know I need but can't seem to get up to get sigh.
Okay going to get aspirin and work on emmy.
Stitching Blogger's Question of the Week: "Stitching Blogger"
Thread organization: plastic bobbins, yes or no: How do you organize your floss?
I use floss bags, I tried the stitch bows its to bulky to carry that way, the bag's with the ring work much better IMHO. Used to only use bobbins but then I would need a small sponge as well as the Thread Heaven.
I just put each color in a bag write the number on the bag, and if its all ready pegged for a project the symbol as well.
I put all the bags that are for a particular project together on a ring, and the extras a separate ring, (that said I have a bunch still in a little bag that I need to get organized

I think I'm coming down with a cold either that or allergy season is already kicking my butt and me without my allegra.
Worked on Emmy once I actually took something for the cold/allergy symptoms so I could think a bit clearer.
Still working on organization, being such a pack rat I can't seem to throw a cross stitch, or crochet or knitting magazine away, 'cause I know I'll need it at some point, no idea when just know that I will need it.
Looking forward to getting past this hump so I can go to casperjacks and gets some stuff I hate not going to the LNS because of being broke, but with three hurricanes and loss of all perishables and the move its just a part of life, not for ever just now, and they say there is a tropical storm called Matthew on the way now, which probably won't be a problem here, but I don't think I can deal with anything besides your basic thunder storm at least not right now.
Okay nuff maudlin thought I'm off to stitch on Emmy,

Greetings,
Here is how its going in my little corner of Florida.
One the house is still standing, no thanks to Jeanne, Frances and Charlie, three hurricanes in a row, that like broke national hurricane records, but so far we're doing okay.
Went to mass last Sunday, with Robert, Father John gave a good homily as always, each time I go, I learn more, and am more awed by the power and importance of the Mass, each time I focus on the Eucharist I'm amazed and humbled by the gift the Father gives us and no I don't understand transubstantiation, I just believe its true.
Sometimes its hard to say I'm a Catholic Christian especially in the current age that seems to attack all things of faith, yes I know there have been people in the church that have done wrong.
But, there have been evil men, and men who had frailities that caused pain for others in all earthly institutions. I believe the church is here for a reason, and if we want it to last we have to hold on to truth and each other and pray for the Grace to continue on.
Still working on Emerald Mermaid by Mirabilia, its coming along slowly but coming.
Also back to exercising, finding it helps me get more done each day if I spend some time on the Gazelle.
Right now iI feel like stitching for a bit, will really try to write daily honest.

'nuff for now
Tal,

Mirabilia and Lavender & Lace, Butternut Road, TIAG Stitchers Gallery This is a wonderful website to get idea's from stitchers all across the world, and the designs of Miribilia as well as TIAG/LL/BR .
No pictures yet on what I'm working on, its relaxing and a lot of fun, but like blogging I got out of the habit, and I have to dedicate time to getting back up to speed, and such.
On the Stitching Blog this weeks question was Patience is a Virtue.
Honestly I can say it is, if you want to have a successful project it takes a lot of patience to get all the threads/fibers/beads and fabric, plus adding it to your rotation. But the rewards are the chance to zone out for a while where you can zone out.
Now as someone with attention deficit disorder, it is not always easy to find things that can engage our patience, but well worth it, its one of the factors that let me get more done and can take that focus to other projects. Patience doesn't mean I only have one project going at a time at least not for me, their all at different stages, some are just kitted, others I'm almost done with just bored for the moment.
I do hope to get better at it, and have more completed, but WIP's are a good thing, and UFO's do get reclaimed.
Well we're definitely moving this week, no idea how to get it done, even though I could literally carry things back and forth, I just need to figure out how to get stuff done.
that's it for now. Hope you all are having a good week, and if any of this rings true let me know 'k

Christian, who's back to Mirabilia's Emerald Mermaid I hope to post my pictures of how its going but till then I can say its good to be back to stitching.

mirabilia
Sorry I've not written in months, 6 months to be precise, but well I've been so busy with work, and family that I let my spining and knitting and crochet get lost, started doing jewlery, just some beading and wire work.
But, I'm on a med leave, so I was getting bored, and I happened upon this site Mirabilia, and remembered why I love cross stitch so I started Emerald Mermaid.
And on the MLI who's the designer of the Told in a Garden series. From that I started also working on The Peace Angel which was a chart I'd had for years, and so I've gotten a couple of charts going that and a holiday cherub from Mirabilia.
Besides that the families okay, missing my daughter Stephanie and twin grandson's Seth Thomas and Tyler Joseph who moved back to California. But Praise God I still have my Beloved Robert.
We're moving to a new house this week so hopefully it won't be a million years before I write again.
Thats all for now, past bedtime.

Work With Me!
The shawl I'm working on, so addictive
Learn Bead Crochet From Scratch!
Lots of great information, here, looking forward to really spending some time on this. But for now it will have to wait.
Surprise!!!
I'm alive, 2004 has been a busy time, well every moment since my last post has been an adventure.
New job for one thing I'm now a reservationist, customer service person here in Fl.
Haven't spun much, haven't done much of anything besides learn my job, get comfortable there. Take care of family when I can actually breath. Worked way to many hours recently.
Now I'm back, still working, but like most fiber artists, passions change, now I'm back to crocheting and knitting. Mostly crocheting, working on a shawl, some doilies, yes doilies, and whatever strikes my fancy.
For Lent this year I'm giving up ebay and buying of any craft supplies till after lent, so since I can't buy them I'll at least have this avenue to post things I want to buy.
For example bead crochet is something I've wanted to try for a while and the link has a lot of great information on how to do bead crochet but like I said no more purchases.
I'll just have to whittle down the stash I have now. And instead of selfishly buying more stuff than I can use, I'll save that money to donate to others who need it to live, and perhaps finally stop saying I should do things to help and do them.
Looking foward to going to Mass in a few minutes it being Ash Wednesday and all, and I'm looking foward to seeing the Passion of the Christ this weekend. Sure as I am that it will be painful also sure that I want to see it for myself.
Anyway gotta get ready for Mass, and just wanted to say I'm back....
