Went to Long Beach SnB's Christmas/Holiday party. It was a grand success, Susan, and Jennifer, and Christine C and all involved did a grand job making it a successful, the food, and the decorations, everything was perfect. It was held at LisCat http://liscat.biz/ which was a great location, always great fun place to go.

Received the most wonderful poppy tea cup and saucer along with a delicious white tea berry tea.

Two skeins of knit picks sock yarn in a lovely shade of blue, a lovely book of sock patterns. And a wonderful coffee scented candle. Thank you again Vicki J for such wonderful thoughtful gifts. And sorry its taken me 2 months to post.

Left the house only once this weekend, to attend Mass at St's Peter and Paul www.sppc.us
Spent the remainder trying to get caught up in knitting my sweater and socks.
But with the heat and fires its hard to concentrate, best idea is mindless stockinette on my socks. Hoping the fires end soon and that fall returns soon.

Working on my first pair of socks in years, thanks to sock envy. I went to my local stitch n beach in Long Beach Ca, a couple weeks ago, and the kind knitter next to me, Susan (waving) was working on a pair, well it started the itch and I wasn't mildly peaceful till I cast on and got the ribbing started last night. Found a wonderful Noro sock yarn at Slipt Stitch in El Segundo.

So anyway caston, and got the ribbing going so that feels good, working on a cool pattern http://www.cherryyarn.com/supersocksock.html I think it will be pretty. Just glad that its started.

Just getting back after spending the weekend, with Robert and 400 or so other Knights of Columbus and wives, for a 4th degree exemplifcation. He looked great in his tuxedo, I was to say the least very proud.
We ladies btw I'm now a Lady Knight how cool is that, any way the ladies had a grand luncheon and although I went to it wishing I was up in the room knitting, I did it. than a big mass, and a banquet, at that point all I wanted to do was go knit in a comfy robe and slippers, blessedly He was of the like opinion. It is no fun not being able to do things because of pain.. Well this is a positive post we had fun, stayed at the irvine Marriot on the sixteenth floor the sheets the bed the big ol flat screen it was all quite nice, but the best part was seeing Robert take a step of faith that he had wanted to and i think never thought he would

We have moved to a new town, San Pedro Ca which offers us a new opportunity to get organized and spend more time knitting and making jewelry, than searching for parts.
With that in mind I've joined Ravelry (ldyanduril) (consistent huh) , and library thing, Life time membership with as many books as I have on as many subjects it was only right to have them all categorized plus you get good recommendations on books and items that might be of interest or fun to try. Ravelry for the same, to keep great records finally of what I am doing but to also connect with other knitters and audio files, Robert got tired of my wanting one but not buying one so he got me a ipod nano, a red one so I can do some good and get what I want.
Any way I went to a knit and Beach over in Long Beach at Barnes n Noble last night the first of October. Met the greatest group of knitsters all of whom quickly made me feel right at home.
Got about a inch or 2 done on the back of my Career check sweater from November's Knitters.
as long as i can remember k4 p4 and switch at least for the next 5 1/2 inches I'll be OK then the pattern will add a twist or two I am sure.
Anyway its getting late so nuff for now I promise to write more next to knit a pouch for my ipod

And with the new town, there's also a new parish St's Peter and Paul In Wilmington, http://www.sppc.us/ is the url. Beautiful parish with so much life. Matter of fact soon after joining I was mentioning I had been a Catechist in Leesburg at St Pauls and lo and behold they need one, to help with confirmation. So prayers and candles needed so I can try to stay on track and help them to stay on track and help them see what a wonderful living thing this faith is. It should be fun llively and a way to get really involved.
So thats where I am, living in San Pedro, over on base its beautiful and quiet, hope to add some pictures tomorrow of the ocean from my favorite stitching bench and wishing everyone
pacem
